Using the recovery service
We save your chosen label name, verified email address, account identifier, equipment list, optional playing profile, labels and finder reports to provide the service. Your chosen display name is printed and shown on your public recovery page. Your email is not printed or shown to finders. Your equipment, playing profile and finder reports are available in your signed-in account and to authorised service administrators. Playing profile answers do not trigger marketing consent or publish your bag to finders.
Optional analytics
With your permission, Google Analytics measures visits and actions such as registration, adding equipment, label downloads and order requests. We exclude names, emails, golfer identifiers, delivery details and form answers. Advertising features are disabled. You can reject analytics or change your choice using Cookie settings. This is separate from email marketing consent.
Account activity
We record successful sign-ins, sign-in method and last account activity to understand service usage and support your account. Authorised administrators can view these records. Page refreshes are not counted as new sign-ins.
Service emails
We use Resend to send sign-in codes, label confirmations and equipment recovery updates. These essential service emails are separate from marketing.
Product news is optional
If you choose to opt in, Back in the Bag may email you product news, launches, offers and updates. We save your choice, the consent wording version and the time of each change. Free registration does not require a marketing opt-in. Existing accounts are not opted in automatically.
You can withdraw marketing consent at any time in your account’s email preferences. This does not affect essential account and recovery emails.
The separate demo
The sample bag and finder demo use example equipment. Demo changes stay in the current page and reset when you reload. They do not create a real account, send an owner a message or order a kit.
Printed-label requests
If you request printed labels, we save your chosen quantities, label name, golfer code, verified email, delivery details and notes. We email these details to orders@bitb.golf so BITB can confirm the price and arrange fulfilment. Submitting a request does not take payment or opt you into marketing. Requests in your account are removed when the account is deleted; operational emails already sent to the order mailbox are handled separately by BITB.
Hosting and deletion
The service is hosted through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare. Resend processes essential service emails. We keep account data while your account is active. Deleting an account removes its equipment, profile, labels and reports, invalidates its sessions and permanently retires its recovery code. Minimal operational deletion records remain. We use essential session cookies for sign-in.
Free early access
Home-printed labels are free for a limited time while we test the service. No payment card is required and there is no automatic paid upgrade. Delivered kits, gifts and insurance are planned for future tiers. No insurance is currently offered or arranged.
